Gerry Hall filed for divorce from her billionaire husband Rupert Murdoch on Friday, citing “irreconcilable differences”, six years after the couple wed.
The 66-year-old model sought unspecified spousal support and attorneys’ fees from the 91-year-old media mogul Murdoch in a California court filing.
Hall said in a petition filed in Los Angeles Superior Court that she was “not aware of the full nature and extent of all of (Murdoch’s) assets and debts and will amend this petition as the information becomes available.”
She also asked the court to stop her from giving support to Murdoch.
Hall’s lawyer, Ronald Broth, did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment. Murdoch’s legal representatives could not be reached after hours.
Murdoch and Hall married in a low-key ceremony in central London Spencer House in March 2016. This was Murdoch’s fourth marriage.
The New York Times reported in June that the pending divorce is unlikely to change the ownership structure of the companies in which he has stakes.
Murdoch, chairman of Fox News Channel parent Fox Corp., controls News Corp., publisher of the Wall Street Journal, through a family trust in Reno, Nevada, which owns about 40 percent of each company’s voting stock.
