Continuation of PM Modi’s Popularity! Survey Reveals Key Insights in the Rahul Gandhi Vs. PM Narendra Modi Contest
The Pew Research report titled ‘Public Perceptions of Modi and Other National Leaders’ reveals that around twenty percent of Indians, on the other hand, hold an unfavorable opinion of Modi. This comprehensive report was made public on August 29th, following a survey carried out from March 25th to May 11th. Interestingly, this timeframe encompasses the period just before Rahul Gandhi was stripped of his MP position on March 27th due to his involvement in a defamation case linked to the Modi surname.
“Approximately sixty percent of Indians also hold a favorable view of Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Indian National Congress (INC). In contrast, 34 percent hold an unfavorable view of this INC politician,” the report underscores.
Given the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, these insights from the report hold significant weight. The report also delves into the opinions of Indians on other prominent political figures, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. “Kharge receives slightly more favorable ratings compared to Chowdhury: 46 percent hold a positive opinion of him, whereas 42 percent share the same sentiment for Chowdhury. Nevertheless, a considerable proportion, around three out of every ten individuals or more, hold unfavorable views of each of these politicians,” the report concludes.
